CA law sucks when it comes to registering a legally registered auto from out of state...The powers that be seem to flaunt registration and laws from the rest of the nation...

What Ca is "better"? Glad I only visit there on occasion...pretty sson they'll fine you if you fart in public............................................ ..............

Default This is REALLY stupid!

Why in the "H" does California come up with these dumb and useless laws on Cobra Replicas? They represent a tiny subfractional part of the cars on the road and are among the cleanest due to the excessive care and maintainance their owners give them, plus they are only driven a couple of thousand miles a year on average. This law has absolutely NOTHIG to do with emissions or air quality and is just one more stupid non-sense law that some idiot politician dreamed up in order to have something to do aside from picking lint out of his naval.
To make these cars "smog compliant" will damage these fine cars, cause harm to the engines as built, and cause significant needless expense to the owners.
I just bought a beautiful Cobra replica with a 425hp 351 Windsor engine. It's titled in Florida as a 1966 Cobra and there was no fraud involved in getting that. Don

If it has been legitimately titled in another state and you have the title in hand, you have nothing to worry about. I personally know two individuals who recently purchased out-of-state Cobras (WA and AL) and had no trouble at all...... they just had to pay the tax. Go talk to DMV in person rather than taking the forum "experts" word as gospel.
