Doug,

We don't have much say in anything in this state. Especially Northern Calif. There aren't even enough voters up here for the politicians to campaign here. And as for the DMV mess, that has been going on for I don't know how long. The one here got so bad that everyone was going to other towns and they finally put a note in with our registrations asking us to please use this one as they weren't getting enough people in there to keep it open back then. But they are like the IRS. No two of them will give you the same answer and some of them will accept an out of state registration just to have the title pulled after a month or so. The only way to legally register a replica of any kind is with the SB-100 set up. Other states will recognize a Calif. title, but this state won't recognize one from them. They had rather lose the millions of dollars they could be collecting in registrations than act like normal people. Don't confuse the California people with the ones in Orange County and the Bay Area.

Ron

It's not that bad. A little stressful sure. Have your paper work in order and get your SB100 on Jan. 2nd. Pay the man and the rest is easy. And the weather is great.

I suspect what he means is the bay area people that elect wingnuts like the mayor of San Francisco (Gavin Newson) and the great speaker of the house(Nancy Pelosi).

Oh, you mean we don't have shotgun racks and pickem up trucks.

Brie and wine for me. At any rate, I thought Orange County is conservative and SF isn't.

There's an episode of South Park (Comedy Channel) called "Smug Alert." Check it out if you can. One of the funniest shows ever created.

Well, now I know.
I bought a boat from a dealer in California, but took possession of the boat in AZ. The boat was not state registered because of displacement but was documented with the Feds. Anyways, the short of it was I had to write a check to the state of Arizona for 20k in taxes that the dealer failed to charge me for. I did not even own the boat anymore (this was 4 years after I bought it) so it hurt even more. California came after me first, and then they reported me to Arizona when they discovered the sale took place there. I now make sure I pay ALL the taxes up front.
