After curing the first bond, it was time to grind the old lip off and smooth it out.
Using Baby powder keeps the fibers from touching the skin and keep you "itch free".
More layer of fiber glass - inside and out.
The flares match the front in shape and distance to the tire.

Howdy Pete,
Looks great!
I started the engine in my Spyder for the first time this morning. It was loud at 5:30am w/ open headers.
I'm looking forward to seeing you and your progress at Thanksgiving.

Howdy Pete,
Looks great! And boy, have you been busy.
I didn't get to come by at Thanksgiving, my brother-in-law's mother fell on Wednesday and that threw a kink into our plans.
Hopefully I can get down that way in Feburary.
Keep up the great work!
Paul

Stick to using the crimp tools. Solder wicks back up the wire and makes it too ridged, so the vibration causes it to fracture, normally inside the insulation so it is a pain to find.
If you have to solder use long nose pilers to hold the bare wire between the insulation and the terminal, it will remove some of the heat and stop the solder wicking so far.

Tim,
yes I use a cable setup. When I first installed the clutch I asked my wife to have a seat and work the clutch. She is fine with the resistance and can handle the car. If she would have problems with the clutch I would go the hydraulic way.
Maurice,
thanks for the advice. The soldering iron which was used to secure the connectors is a Elenco SL5 small tip and the solder is a 22ga Sn63/Pb37. I made sure there is/was no solder in the wire body drawn out side the connectors.
You're right there is a chance of vibration brakes if it is not done right. But I saw more connection fail with just crimping than crimp and solder. Especially in high stress race conditions.

Pete,
Nice pictures, great progress!
What kind of clutch mechanism are you going with ... looks like a cable? There certainly is a lot of wiring and pluming ... I like all the copper tubing for the heater setup
