It has begun - G-Pete's 289FIA Scratch Build

Pete,
It's been a while since your last update. How's your progress, or is it just too hot to get anything done?

We are middle of the move of the shops. The welding shop is up and running. The machine shop is half way done, still machines to power up and moving raw materials...

and of course making Brats foe my guys (not me in the picture)

Pretty soon I will post updates on the 289 build.

I'll like to send Pete a special thanks for allowing my Wife and I to see his car.

We got to meet Pete on Sunday and he's a really great guy!

For anyone in the Dallas area you owe it to yourself to meet Pete and check out his scratch built Cobra.

Meanwhile I wait for the new motor the body will be prepared for the last take off.
It is just too cool the resin of the fiberglass does not stick to the duct-tape. The front flairs were the templets for the rear. Tape and first base of resin and micro balloon mix.




One layer fiberglass





After trimming, securing with clecos for final cut. Preparing resin and riveting the flairs on the body. One night cure.
