Default Best Muffler section?

I'm looking for some inputs on side pipes muffler sections. Which one are the best. My definition of "best" is not too loud, cooler temp the better, and good maintenance (not having to repack them a lot). I don't care that much about how much power they take away (unless it is 100hp or something ) as minus 50hp on a 500hp cobra won't be a big deal.

Someone already mentioned the SL series mufflers from Hushpower. They come in 22 and 30 sections, I think I would use the 30" section.

Oh, and these will be painted black.

Thanks guys.

I put Classic Chambered Exhaust cobra packs on my car last winter. Much quieter, and a softer sound than the stock FFR mufflers they replaced. I don't think they gained me any power, but I don't think I lost any, either. I didn't do a before and after dyno run. But the Butt-Dyno doesn't lie - much.

As for heat, that's not really a function of the muffler. I sprayed mine with a ceramic heat barrier that seems to work well. The pipes had previosly been ceramic coated silver from Jet Hot. after welding the old tips to the new mufflers, I sprayed them with a black ceramic coating from Alvin. After a 20 minute track session, I checked the inside and outside temp at the turn out - the only place I could easily get to both sides. The differance was 50*.

I have used quite a few sets of the Classic Chambered. They are available in any length, with or without packing, directional louvres and a couple of ID's. That gives you all kinds of options. They also have a great tone I think.
