Default I've Got a Good Idea (I think)

As some may know, I have original 289 Cobra chassis plans that I've shared with many folks. They were so-so. I went back and am going through all of them to make sure they are as correct as I can make them. I am also adding a LOT of new drawings and details.

The hours I've spent drawing, checking, re-checking asking some friends for dimensions not known or verifying ones that I wasn't sure of are adding up but this is a labor of love for me and I enjoy doing it and sharing with the group.

Anyway, the frame I originally built did not meet my standards and has been sold so I am going to start on a new one once these drawing are done.

SO, since I HATE cutting sheetmetal, I am getting a quote for having the sheet metal parts on the 289 frame water jet cut and would like to know if there is anyone who would possibly like a "kit" as well. This is just a feeler to see who and how many would be interested after I get the quote back from the water jet dude. I would also include a set of plans on pdf.

I'm not looking to make money on this (case in point, I never charged for the so-so plans) but I would like to at least pay for the fuel to pick up the "kits" and packaging so that would be included in the price.

Just reply to this post if you are interested and have any questions.

I will post an inventory of what will be included sheet metal wise in the very near future.

Regards,

Just got the quote for water jetting the parts but it did not include the material so I need to get prices for 11ga steel sheet and work that into the price.

Depending on how many folks are interested, it is looking like around $300 +/- per kit plus shipping. I need narrow this down and give the final price hopefully by the weekend.

Jeff,

That is a great idea but I have no dimensions or drawings of them. If anyone has drawings or dimensions for the original Cobra inner panels and would care to share, I would certainly offer them as well.

Hey Mark, good idea. Don't forget to program in the nibbled hole edges for the look. I'd be interested to see how the drawings are coming along. We should talk. I'm thinking the ally might need to be done old school and fit to the individual car.
