This is backside.

Thanks Jeff for the excellent photos. A couple of questions - what is the material on the backside & does it just sit on top of the leather (no edge treatment)?
|
It is a PE type panel and yes sits on top.
Originals were different. |

The originals are more like a melamine pressboard which curls and degrades.
The PE is lasting and replication. Original below |

Been working on things unseen clearing brakes from wheels etc. A few additions via Mike Kraus will help as this frame was missing a few things. BTW Mike can also fabricate a frame. He has really done a great job making frame plans, attention to detail second to none.
THANKS MIKE! Collecting parts on the side. |
Hi Jeff,
Progress looks great. Looking forward to seeing the finished Cobra. Ed |

This one should hit pace this summer. Been an American Picker on this lately. Might be in Kingston after SAAC with gold car. Will need to meet up.... Would love to see your CCX, admired it for years. |
Place order with Cobra Automotive today for T10 4spd.
Will be nice addition to the 289 they will put together. |
Hi Jeff,
You driving to Mid-Ohio? Trying to figure out if I am driving or flying... |
Driving as Goldie will be in tow
|
Hi Jeff, this one is going to be a street car, a clone of #2317 ? Instead of the T-10 why don't you go with a 5spd for a better highway cruise?
|
Tom
Great question. First the T10 is correct for the car. Using a 64 -289 five bolt block limits some fittment of new options. A five speed would be nice but I think I prefer a fully functional period part. Using a 3:31 rear should be fine at 70mph. |
70mph, what about 170mph???

My friend Joe just bought a cool car.......

Jeff,
The frame looks great! What are you going to have done to it at the frame shop? I imagine that it is going tone powder coated. Looking forward to the nests photos. |
Getting some welding done and adding a few parts that are missing.
Next will be paint then body on and alloy parts hood, boot and doors. Inner panel patterns are ready to install. Hoping to get this project in gear. |
