Default My Cobra Tribute is finally done

I started building this car in 2008. I finished it enough in 2008 to register it. But, there were a number of things that I wanted to improve and redo. Life circumstances have resulted in slow progress and serious health issues have taken priority. I took it apart over the winter and have just finished to my satisfaction.

I am getting my affairs in order and selling all of my projects, boats, and cars. This one is going up on Ebay tomorrow night. It's a sad day.

The particulars.
- Shell Valley body skin and Cobra specific parts.
- I built the frame (professionally welded)
- Stock 90 inch wheelbase but the custom headers go up and over the foot boxes so that they can be much longer.
- The seats are low so at 6'2 my head can be below the windshield and I have lots of leg and foot room.
- I made the seats
- I made the engine cover
- I molded in the rear under tray so that the fuel tank is not exposed.
- My car is a Tribute, not a replica. I love the Cobra look and appreciate the history. But, I have built a lot of cars using Corvette parts and I like them. So, that's what I used to build this car.
- About 3,000 miles on the car. I purchased the LS6 new.
- T-56 6 speed transmission
- C5 3:42 limited slip diff set up for a driveshaft
- A small radiator is shown in the roller pics. A new larger aluminum radiator has just been installed. The air entering the radiator is routed along the 16 inch tall frame rails and out behind the front tires.
- I built molds for the trunk and interior pieces then made the parts.
- It's a great driving car. It has the reliability and service ability of a Corvette.

I've enjoyed this forum. I appreciate that its available and will still be checking in.

John,

I am sorry to hear of your challenged health and this series of events you are undertaking.

I thank every one for the kind words and support.

Jeff, I've been in NY, near Lake Placid for awhile now. I regret not having my car ready to join the New England group when I lived in NH.

The Cobra sold right away, to the first person that saw it. I was more emotional about letting it go then I thought I would be.

I'm home this afternoon after having some minor surgery this morning. I'm dreaming of being able to build another car. Hopefully that will happen.

A beautiful car--ingenious header routing! Congrats on the sale; and good luck in future! If any consolation, I have found the planning, procuring, and building almost as much fun as the driving!
God speed.
