Default 427 Build by Cobrakiwi

Working hard in the shop, this is a nice project we have been working on the last few weeks.
The car is really starting to come together quite nicely.
Frame finished, back from powder coating.

The last couple of weeks work entails covering most of the powder coated frame with a shinny substance. This process takes careful aim with the hammers.

Doesn't every body build there cars in the backyard?
MIG, no not yet, but have built a few parts for this one, I think it's a couple models earlier than the Mig

This is a good picture showing how I tapped the edges of the body around the support frame work.
Then a good strong rivet holds the edge in place.

Thanks for all the positive comments, it really does help!
Next was fitting the trunk lid, lots of time in this panel, getting the gaps and hinges right alone took a couple of days work.
Very happy with the outcome.

I have the utmost admiration for your talents. I do some very tiny fabrication. When I think how much work it is to do what I do, I am in awe of the kind of work you are doing.

Great thread.

One door complete, I find the doors can be one of the hardest parts to get right.
Time to start on the passenger side.
As always, thanks for the positive comments.

I have just about finished the passenger door, ran out of argon this weekend.
Hope to start on the hood this week, fitted the steel tube hood frame, next will be fitting the flashing that the hood skin wraps around.

Yes we build to order, I have two alloy cars on the go at the moment.
I am in the process of working out a few small details for the next run of alloy body 427 cars.
I also hope to be able to supply a fiberglass 427 body on our same frame, once again a few details are in the works with fiberglass details. The fiberglass body could also be fitted with our alloy doors, hood and trunk option.
Any body interested in one of our cars please pm for more details.
Thank you for your interest.
