Default Chesnut Cheetah tribute picture

Ok, I'm a little bored today and was going through pics of my build and wishing that I could go for a ride. Unfortunately I fell down stairs the other night and am laid up. Nothing too serious but really sore. Waiting for Xray results. It sucks getting older. I don't have any feeling in my feet. I trip a lot.

Buzz did a photo shop picture of my car when I was building it. This weekend one of my 4 daughters visited me. Her boy friend snapped this picture. It reminded me of Buzz's pic. My daughters blonde hair is waist length. She could be the driver in the pic.

I'm hoping to be well enough to join the Vermont Cobra group for a cruise this weekend.

Having fun.

Thumbs up

Your daughter is lovely and the car looks fantastic, John! Two weekends ago I took a header off a slippery rock ledge while taking a break to catch some yellowtail snappers at an all-day pig roast for my friends and ended up with two cracked ribs. Very sore up to now, but could've been way worse. Still managed to finish roasting porky and it was a great day.
I hope you get better so you can take that beautiful Cheetah to join the Cobras.
All the best!

Very cool pictures both you (John) & Buzz came up with I have a very interesting story from 1964 that involves Allen Grant & Alan Green's Cheetah, and myself a 9yo lad. Let me know if you want to hear the rest of the story ? Buzz are you still up in B.C. ? As soon as we get the virus thing handled you want to come down for a drive? 6-of us went for lunch last week, to a place called the "Gearbox Drive-in" great place. Cheers TommyRot.

John,

Looks great! That's a nice photo of your daughter and the Cheetah. Frame it and put it on the wall. Looks like it will be a nice weekend.

Jim

Thanks Buzz. Your photoshop skills are awesome and an inspiration. Thank you for the 2 versions that you did of my car.
I hope that you recover quickly. I need to be extra careful so that I can continue to be active and work in my shop.

Desgros, I love the 289 Cobra's. There's a gentleman, Larry Jaques, that has a Superformance 289 that lives the next town from me. I see and hear him drive his beautiful car.
The VT group is meeting on the 25th at Maplefields, 159 Paine Turnpike, Berlin, Vt at 11am. Lunch at Kindgom Taproom in St John's then a drive through Stowe and Barre. Maybe ice cream along the way. It's a good group. They even let a guy with a Cheetah come along.

Tommyrot, I want to know the story!

Jim, My youngest child graduates in Nov from Clarkson. I'm going to be turning his room into my personal space. Lots of pictures, including the one here with my daughter will be going up.

Have a great day, John

John,

It's actually George, not Larry. We sold him his 289 and he loves it!

Wow. I knew his name is George. I'm losing it. Thanks for the correction.

It is a stunning car.

John,

Thanks for the information about 25 July. Weather permitting I will try to be at Maplefields
Berlin at 11:00. Very nice car you have. Were you at RPM's Vergennes last summer with the Cobras?

Yes I was. It wasn't licensed yet so I brought it in my trailer.

I'm actually still in St. Lucia, lol! The whole COVID thing came along and our ports have been closed. Things are now beginning to open up again, but it's still very difficult to get a flight out to Canada. Once I'm settled in up there and re-acquainted with my wife and my dog, I would certainly love to come down for a visit!
