Ah, Jeff, Usually Ford bellhousings were bare as they were installed after the engine was painted, to avoid getting paint into the clutch, etc. Same with transmissions, they didn't get painted. But I could be wrong (ask my wife!).

Inside of bellhousing is bare, will get oiled only.
Only outside color
Trunk and engine bay rubber gasket today.
Rebuilt an old silent travel latch today as well versus using repop, two right sides with one for HTM111.
The old Silent travel are nicer and seem sturdier.
