Hi there,
By comp car I am guessing you mean the fia or USRRC version. As far as I am aware the difference is just in the shape of the door opening, they just added a piece of tubing to reverse the curve of the door for more fender room. Plus the single roll bar and its mountings. I would suggest you buy a set of Chuck Lindquest’s (chuckcobra) drawings.
The first set covers the complete basic chassis including the door, hood and trunk frames. The second set covers suspension parts and most of the interior and inner fender panels and the roll bar parts.
I do however agree with Krausewich that you need figure out the body first. Chuck’s drawings also state that you may need to modify tubes to fit your existing body, I know I did. That is unless you wish to build the frame work and then fit an aluminum body to in the manner AC Cars did it.
My body is fibreglass of an undetermined origins so I am doing a bit of both, fitting to it and using Chuck’s drawings to rework some of the body to be somewhat more correct.
Just my 2 cents worth
Cheers,
Hudson

You build what you like and I will build what I like...it's all good
You know that guy,
