Well, it's been two weeks so I figure I better post some thing, to stave off loss of interest. I finally finished the backbone sheet metal. That has to have been the worst thing I have ever had to cover in my life. So sorry if this does not hold up to all of your high standards of my work. I plan to cover all the aluminum with either textured coating on both sides or paint / textured where you will see the aluminum. To me it looks like it was beaten into submission.

I would personally like to thank everyone who replies to this thread you really do keep me going, because this isn't as easy for me as you all think.
Patrick

Personally I think your high standards haven't waivered,we all sit back in awe at the craftmanship of this build ..I luv the way your brain goes about things you are an inspiration to all who luv these cars ...Keep up the great work ..the fact you take the time to document your build is great, then post it on here and then reply to all the questions...damn it would probally be done by now!!
Regards Paul

Ok, I've been lurking for a while and decided to post since you asked...
The number one thing that stands out to me, is your willingness to think outside the box, and that you readily realize that steel doesn't always have to be in a straight line Nice use of curved materials. This is a huge undertaking, so I envy your determination and the amount of spare time you must have available. My only concern is what the total weight is going to be when you're done.

I put my cobra on hold to work on my sons 71 cougar. We are 90% done with the body work and the roll cage. I hope to be shooting the Black Cherry Mika paint mid November. I bought a SHO Ford Taurus engine for it. It is a really cool looking engine with 220 hp and smooth. It should be just right for a 16 year old.
Once I get him on the road I am bringing my cobra back in and resume work. You should be finished by then...
