If I was not on a beach vacation through Friday night I probably would have preferred going to the SAAC convention on whichever day they held the vintage race.

On Saturday morning, I had a few things to do, like pick up the dog from the pet motel, but I thought why not try to drive up to the convention on the last day before it closes. I got to the track after SAAC registration had closed, but someone from SVRA gave me a white wrist band to get into the track (no charge). However when I got to the inside fence gate by the car show, the guy there told me the white band was not correct to get in. I said I just want to go to the car show that is right in front of me and then he let me pass.

If I had seen Jeff's gold car in the car show, I would have probably tried to figure out who Jeff was to say hello. But I did not see his car so I figured he must have left already.

Would have loved to have met............
Missed a few folks, there is always next year. Was a bit disjointed with concours at a different location. With needing to be at both locations seemed I was in a car a lot.

Goldie never made the trip.
I know, already was ribbed several times...
Thursday forecast was rain, which it did
Friday great
Saturday upon return was to be rain in the NE so I bagged it.
Comp screen, Weber's, no air filters, hood scoop and Hale reported for Thursday evening made the decision hard yet decisive.

Of course Kei and Miki drove from Monterey, they get the award for extra effort and of course they had no pitty for me..... They turned 111,000 on this trip, Miki gets "Woman of the Year!" in my book.

Hmm, I did not see MrMustang on Saturday, that seems odd, hasn't he been to practically all of the SAAC conventions? I talked to Dan for a couple of minutes, but he was busy with the car show. Now that I think of it I should have tried to figure out if Ron Richards was there to meet him.

That Grand Sport is a sweet buggy, what a cat among the pigeons there though huh!
Mustang with the big slicks and the FARM USE plates was a chuckle.
What a great weekend, big thanks to all the SAAC team and behind the scenes people that volunteer and make the event happen for us. Peter and Gayle Brock and several others at the event bombed over from Monterey to be there. Peter is a heck of a guy and people like him and Chuck are great for attending everything they can and being available to us Shelby crazies. Peter left the stage after speaking at the dinner to a standing ovation. I have a few pics up here.

I had a previous family commitment and missed this year

Bill S.

PS: For the record, I've missed SAAC conventions before .
