New CSX owner

Guys,
I just sold my ERA 626 and have a purchase agreement for CSX 6079.

the car does not have a glove box. I am spoiled from ERA any time I need parts peter p sends them to me. I have no idea where to get these parts. I also have seen several CSX cars with the wrong offset on the rear wheels. any one have the proper offset for these wheels?

CSX 6079 currently era 626

Congrats, is CSX6079 new or used?

xb-60 05-19-2019 06:32 PM

Congratulations on the purchase.
Does CSX6079 have a "S/C" type dash? If so, it shouldn't have a glovebox....?

Cheers,
Glen

I have a CSX7000 series car...when I have needed parts, I call SAI in Las Vegas and they have been very helpful.

When I owned CSX4825 (w/an SC dash) I kept my registration under the passenger floor mat. This way when I got pulled over you tell the cop where it is so he can watch you get your 'paperwork.' Only pulled over once in 2 yrs. (IL St Police) and after looking over my car he just said 'slow it down.'

no drive train, billboards going on ASAP

CompClassics 06-28-2019 12:54 AM

You may want to reconsider the "Billboard" tires, they are not DOT approved and they are bias-ply. I would highly recommend AVON CR6ZZ.

era626,
You'd be very wise (eh-hem) to have your install done by a "renowned" shop, not just a dealer recommended shop.
You're in CA. It would be worth the drive to CompClassic's shop near SD or McCluskey in LA.

Ehhhh, you just drop the engine in, bolt it down, fire it up, and drive it off. Piece of cake.

That option will keep you busy. %/

Hey Mike,

You finally pulled the trigger on CSX!

Put the Avons on they are way better. I think they look just as good. If you want to see them let me know. Also if you want to get the install done right contact Kris. I have his info.

Cheers, Allan

my installer is me... but thanks for the advice. The billboards will be for show, as I will put a set of better tires down the road...

I have some people helping with my motor build and tune, I will have a shop set up the suspension and ride height. I put together ERA 626 and have had zero issues with the car in 16 years... The build is half the fun for me... I plan on through inspection of the entire drivetrain when I get the car in september.

Yeah, but that was an ERA. A CSX car is a whole new adventure in reliability.

I inspected the car, it looks like a very solid car, but time will tell.
Example, the fit and finish is equal to or better than my ERA, the steering feels very good. It has a Kirkham rear differential, the drive train appears to be installed correctly but I will check every nut and bolt personally. The paint job is 100% perfect.

But.. I have no clue what fuse does what or what the relays do. But over all the car is very nice, I have read some stories about quality issues, this car seems good. I am extremly picky about my car I cant find any issues... yet.

I dont know what your comment is implying but I have owned an ERA for 16 years, after reading here I started to have concerns about the CSX cars. After my inspection of the car today, I am completely happy and the quality is excellent
But best of all its a CSX not a copy of a CSX.
