SpecialK: The person I know that visited S. Africa said he obtained his info about the Shelby plant from a business partner there. His partner gave him directions to the plant and it wasn't very far from the SPF plant (which he also visited). He took pictures of the place, but I have yet to see them (he lives in California and I live in Illinois), they are 35mm shots, and when he mails them to me I will try and post them via scanner. He also has some nice pictures of the SPF plant and their cars.
My comment on the Series 1 cars wasn't from knowing someone who didn't recieve one. From what I understand, a lot of people put down deposits for a car.........the cars were delayed (quite awhile), and the price for the cars went through the roof (a lot more money than they were told at the time of placing their deposits!). The people with deposits down (non-refundable deposits!) were basically told that "this is the price now, and if you don't like it, too bad".. .....Not good business (IMHO).

Excal: This guy I know that visited the plant in SA (the one you say that "doesn't have a clue"....), is VP of a very large beverage company (that you would know). .......I would say that "he has a clue".

Actually, the picture of the CAV plant that you posted looks pretty empty (no cars in sight). ......Maybe the lights are on, but nobody is home??? ;-)
