Jerome,

Beautiful Car. Let me know when you'll be in So. Cal to visit your car. Maybe we can get together.

Mark

decooney 02-28-2006 06:18 PM

Jdog,
Is she ready for delivery now?

jdog 02-28-2006 07:03 PM

Home delivery

Thanks guys, she really is beautiful. The pictures just don't due her justice! I'm stoked!

Mark I will be sure to make time to meet up with you real soon. I will be in LA on Friday, but I have meetings in 2 different places. The morning in Fullerton, and the afternoon in Fontana. I'll fly into John Wayne and out of Ontario!**)
So, I don't think I'll have time for any "personal business" on Fri.:(
I'll let you know the next time I'm in LA, on a 1 meeting day, and my Cobra is there. I will schedule enough time to go by Newport, & maybe, if your not busy?
Is you car at Newport? How do the headers fit?

Duane, she's almost ready. There were some issues with some of the front end parts that were outsourced by Shelby. They are defective and Shelby is replacing them. My car is awaiting the new parts for the front end, and then it's on to my dealer in LA, for some last options. Could be just a few weeks, or ?
I might have her drivable by "BASH' time!:)

jdog:)
P.S. Duane a CO at Folsom asked if I know you. Named Garcia, kinda short Mexican, I think he said he lives in Folsom. Do you know him?
See ya soon!

Hey Jdog,
Truly, congratulations is in order. I bet you could not believe it when you finally laid your eyes on it for the first time. Its yours! Yeah, no matter what you have come May 18th, bring it finished or in progress, whatever, just bring it!

P.S. Yes - Tell Ray I said hello and thanks for keeping those guys all under control over there. :)

Igofastr 02-28-2006 09:08 PM

Congrats, JDOG

When I can finally convince my wife that KMP357 actually does NEED a motor, we'll have to get together with Maurice19 and compare notes.

<< Doing the arm rotation dance.... "GO JDOG, GO JDOG, GO JDOG"..

Ok, enough of that :).

Congrats Jerome, it's been a long time coming, and you've been patient. Now comes the fun time, assembly! Even if you are having someone else (i.e. dealer) do it, you can still watch the progess! And then, delivery day!! Were you able to get an SB100 this year? Or are you using an original 427 block?

PatBuckley 03-01-2006 07:48 AM

Congratulations jdog!

Are you going to do a build blog?

mikiec 03-01-2006 08:33 AM

Jdog....

Congrats. Now if only the gray hair, you got while waiting, will go away . :) :)

Mike

jdog 03-01-2006 08:39 AM

66' 427 side oiler!

Sal, look at my photo gallery, that's a 66' 427fe side oiler. However I will get in line next Jan for an SB100 #.;)

jdog:)
P.S. Yes Maurice, as if a great weight has been lifted off of me! Quite a relief.:) Is your car the one Tom will have on display at "The Bash"?

jdog 03-01-2006 08:43 AM

Jerome, my understanding was that if you have an original block, you can register the car as a special construction vehicle with the year of the block casting, and don't actually need the SB100. Is this not true?

jdog 03-01-2006 10:37 AM

Sort of!

Sal, It's not quite that easy. You still need to pass smog. We have a "Gross polluter" law. You also have to re-test every 2 years.

With an SB100 # your exempt forever!:)

jdog:)

Right, but I thought that an FE motor of a 65 or 66 vintage didn't need to have any smog parts? Or do you mean that they do an actual sniffer test on the cars every 2 years?

Just would hate to see you have to wait almost a year to drive the car you've waited 3 years for!
