I don't know the answer to your first question but I hope that car has not been built yet.
KMS shipped SAI an aluminum body chassis unit last month.
We currently have a few 427 "Shelby configuration" bodies in stock now. So the lead time should be short.

I think your right jdog about what type of body NOT being the fundamental problem with delivery.
But for any future alloy versions the body is a HUGE problem because of COST. There is no way anybody can supply alloy bodies at a cost even close to competitive with Kirkham. IF Shelby uses another source for alloy bodies the car will be far higher than the currently listed price. Thats my guess anyway...

Alloy, CSX1000 series out of England? 50 a year, limited production. Are these the only alloy Shelbys available for 2006?

A good friend of mine was out in Vegas looking at his car nearing completion last month. CSX1012. He was told that his car maybe the last one delivered before the whole deal with the CSX1000 series fell apart. They also mentioned a couple of the cars are "missing". In other words possibly paid for by Shelby but not shipped by AC.

These are pictures I have from Shelby Distribution - USA that Lance Stander sent today. CSX4825-CSX4850
http://www.gessford.com/cobra/images...ibutionUSA.htm
CSX4374 Aluminum Shelby arrived at Shelby Last week and is in production. This car was ordered 4th quarter 2005. We certainly would take orders for more Aluminum Cars. An order placed in the 4th quarter 2005 with production scheduled now seems a reasonable time for a Shelby.

ShelbyGT500, when starting this thread asked:

Any first hand info out there on what the current lead time is from Shelby American for an aluminum roller?
|
I think the manufacturing 'crisis' Shelby had the last couple of years has been resolved and production will ramp up and remain steady in the future. For GLASS cars.
What is the current and future status for ALLOY cars?

Thank you George, as I've said many times in the past. Gessford Machine, George and his crew have been a big help to me in the past. I have nothing but the highest respect for the man and his company.
But I still wonder who's making ALLOY bodies for Shelby these days, and down the road.
