Default sway bar

has anybody had any problems with rear sway bars on 4000's? i had a noise as if something was loose. mostly when going foreward to reverse. reverse to foreward. or letting off the gas going up my driveway. i chased the "clunk" to the upper brackets securing it to the frame. there is no bushings, so if i tighten the brackets the sway bar will not twist. if i loosen them i get a clunk.

Funny that they don't have a bushing. If no one has any insight here check http://www.csxinfo.net

You may have the brackets installed incorrectly. They are offset to one side and if one half is on backwards, they will bind up.

Hi
I had the same problem on a build, (the blocks need to be tight). I had to take both blocks off the car and assemble them on the bench and ream them to fit the sway bar. When I assembled them back on the car I put some grease where the bar contacts the blocks, no more problems. If your bar is powder coated it could be the thickness of the coating causing the problem, if so you could try and remove the powder coating right where it contacts the blocks.
