Default New book out on Shelby Oct/2010

Written by a California guy who I think actually raced against Shelby or was at least on the scene when Shelby was still a race driver.
I haven't seen it yet so can't given an opinion but here's the same ad blurb I got in a letter from the publisher, reproduced here without a word changed, so you "got to be first" guys can search from here...

Title: The Shelby American Story
Author: Art Evans
Format: Horizonatl

By Art Evans with photography by Dave Freidman Le Mans winner Carroll Shelby was one of the best American drivers during the fifties. But unfortunately, his racing career was cut short after the 1960 season due to his heart condition.
Always interested in car design and construction, Shelby conceived one of the most successful sports cars, the Cobra, followed by the King Cobra, the Cobra Daytona Coupe and Shelby Mustangs. His company—Shelby American—won the World Manufacturers’ Championship in 1965. At the helm of the Ford GT program, he won the triple crown of racing: Le Mans, Sebring and Daytona.
This book details not only the triumphs, but also the tragedies as well profiling those involved including Mario Andretti, Phil Hill, Ken Miles, Dan Gurney and many others. Illustrated with more than 200 photographs, the book is hardcover in an 8˝x11-inch landscape format with 128 pages. A bargain for only $39.95 and a future collectible.
Item No. 39752 $39.95
