I don't have any details or schematics of the FIA coolers, but I do have info on the 427 Comp and S/C; shouldn't be much different.

A small Coventry cooler element was hung in front of the pinion, supported by the inboard seat mounts. The Dana rear had fittings, top and bottom, for hoses that were "draw and return" lines... thru the cooler and a Bendix Fuel pump, controlled by small toggle switch on the dash.

The cooler's lines came up thru the floorpan, next to the seats, and the hoses ran thru the rear of the interior, back to the diff thru the bulkhead sheetmetal.

Some cars had dual pumps; most cars had aluminum ducting, shaped like a dustpan that shrouded the cooler.

Hope this is clear enough.

The new Rinsey Mills book shows a USRRC chassis and it details the diff cooler setup. It has two small tabs just aft of the furthest rear crossmember that the radiator bolts to. The radiator is actually under the front diff mount. The pump is bolted to a bracket that is welded near the left forward control arm mount on the rear control arm

csx700?, your chassis has the radiator mount and possibly the pump mount.

The book is here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books

You MUST get this book! I have almost worn my copy out!

The stud is for the brake junction.
