And if you want to download technical manuals, tune-up articles, or the software itself, this is my favorite spot for it: http://www.fordfuelinjection.com/

Two great sites but both WAY over my head.....LOL.....what I thought was this;

the computer controls the distributor........

what I learned was this;

the distributor controls the computer.........

what I need to know is this;

is it the PIP or the SPOUT location coming out of the distributor that controls the computer???

I am trying to get my engine running with an aftermarket computer (Microtech MT-10) and get spark until I add the computer into the equation........so......whatever tells the computer to work is not doing its job...........

I read an article just last week on how to diagnose an intermittent no-spark condition with PIP and SPOUT. Let me see if I can find it.

SPOUT is for disabling computer timing adjustment to the TFI module (unhook to set timing), PIP is the tach signal. The TFI can work on it's own without the computer (which is what the SPOUT actually does), you loose advance but it'll idle.

GM chose to label the tach terminal "Tach" for some strange reason...
