Default Cadmium plating shops

I need to have a 1x4 fuel log cadmium plated (replated). There are no shops that do Cad plating in the DC area anymore and many that I have spoken to have pretty high minimums. I'd rather not pay nearly what it cost to buy the log in the first place just to have it replated....

Anyone have any suggestions/recommendations?

cadmium? if its a gold color its called gold irridite, there are minimum charges for coating and its usually in the 50 to 65 dollar range, try calling canton, i know they redo there pans for a 25 dollar fee, maybe you can talk them into doing your fuel log.

I think its called both gold cadmium and also gold irridite, depending on who you ask. I tried Canton. They will replate your pan for $25. The problem is they don't have small parts and send out their pans in batches. They think something small like a fuel log will get lost by their plating company and won't be associated with Canton as they don't send small parts. I asked if I could wire it to my pan (which I will either replate or paint as well) and they told me that they would need to separate it during the stripping process and that doesn't solve the problem. Hence the post....thought someone might have a connection.

the gold zinc plating is pretty close; or try Saporito Plating in Chicago.
