How hot does your differential get?
I have a T-bird based 8.8 IRS with Torsen Tru-Trac. Seems to get pretty hot just driving around...my guess is between 170-190 degrees. Hate to think how hot it will get on the track but I've heard or read about some getting up to 250 degrees or so. Cant be good for it. Guess thats why some forms of racing have diff coolers on them with pumps etc.
Currently I am using plain old 75/90 gear oil in it. Thinking of switching to 75/140 to see if that will run cooler, or at least it will have some viscosity at higher temps.
Any thougths on how hot is too hot?
