I was going to order belts through Sticky Tire Motorsports last year and heard that about the Y type being out-lawed next year.So after Christmas is over I ordered a rollbar crossmember bracket from Finish Line and modified as required and installed.I have the drivers side taken care of, ready for new belts w/ two eyebolts on rollbar bracket and three on floor for waist belt and antisub . The passenger side is still setup for the Y type passing through the bulkhead and bolted to frame in trunk and three eyebolts on the floor. It was recamended that I l anchor the single Y strap as close behind the passenger as possible .I also realize that a passengeris not likely at track speeds .Would you change to an eye bolt at the bulkhead and shorten the Y strap to anchor behinhor the passengers shoulders or go to two eyebolts at the bulkhead and go to two short sperate straps?
This all started because my belts are the latch type and are old enough and the date tags are gone. The latch type is a pain to get all the straps stacked and buckeled ,one or more ends fall off the tungue and the antisub falls to floor and I can't reach it , I have to slip partiualy out and start over, stacking the strap ends. I saw another driver cooly pluging one end after another in his camlock setup. That seemed so much easier. And forget hooking up the shoulder straps while under way, with the latch setup you have to start over unlatching the waist belt to add any others.I drive it mostly on the street and the shoulder harness seems a bit much when you start off, then an opertunity comes up and you plan on adding some throttle, the shoulder harness would seem like a good measure but hooking up while under way is really a hassel.
I'm in negotiations with my wife .She thinks my interior is inferrior and needs to be nicer. My dash is a textured black paint and is rusting around the gauges. She liked the vinyl covered dashes she has seen. The carpet is just fuzz but doesn't hold much water .The seats are not plush and faded . The seats are bolted directly to ythe floor and don't have a lot of padding to keep it as low as possible .I had planed on a convertable top and side curtains and getting the intake manifold machined and coated. I like shopping around to see what is available before I jump into it.
If you have some ideas or pictures it is all welcomed. Sources and websites help too.Did I say I like a deal too thats why I started withn Sticky Tire because they were listed under Club member discounts. The discount always seems not be apply to whatever I am purchasing at that time.I seem to have a ton of plans, a cold garage and just so much money.I'l be asking about all the other things soon.
The TEAMTECH line is really impressive but what does it cost?
M&R what does that stand for and where are they?
