Default Quick Jacks, what a headache!

Is it just me or does anyone else have a habit of constantly bashing their head on their quick jacks? Whenever I work under the front or back of the car I repeatedly bang my head on those suckers! One time I almost knocked myself cold! And its not that I'm new to working on Cobras with quick jacks, been at it for a handful of years now. Mine have a nice sharp edge too...just today banged my forehead 3 times working on the front..drew blood on one of them. I might manufacture some foam-filled covers to slip on during servicing...before I cause further brain damage!

He has a propensity to cover steel in thick foam.

I'm one of those guys who values function above appearance most of the time. After whacking the quick jacks several times with various body parts, I examined them and found they were only decorative (i.e., not strong enough to use to actually raise the car). So i removed them. Later, when I had the car repainted, I had the holes filled.

I cut a slit in a tennis ball and slide over the end of the quickjack when climbing underneath the car. May look funny, but beats whacking yourself in the head.

Ha! I'm thinking an 8" piece of a pool noodle, slit to fit should do the trick.

I second the tennis ball deal. I like the looks of quick jacks and handy to jack up at track or away from lifts at home. Made bar to go from quick jack to quick jack, jack car up and then put jack stands under bar at each end. Bar goes past quick jacks far enough so jack stands go outside of quick jacks.

I should have taken a photo of my right chin bone, the cut was nasty !
I'm on blood thinners so it bled for ever.

Just more snake bites from my Cobra, like my 2nd degree burn on my other leg from the drivers side pipe. Ouch.....(but I forgive her, as always)

Damn, I thought Jamo would have banned you after that last little bit of "humor." He must have been in a particularly charitable mood that day.

I for one would never use a dirty old diaper to protect my head. Nevertheless, foam or a lift will work well!

No, I wrap the diaper around the quick jacks, not my head.
