Filter element vs housing
The 1960 ELEMENT is 1 and 13/16 inches height
The complete filter ASSEMBLY is 2 and 1/4 high
Hope that clarifies the matter.
The 3 inch element will require a huge or *thru* hood scoop, not something to be done by an amateur. Here is a link to such a professionally done scoop, if anyone wants to see that:
