Caliper piston size

What OEM aluminum caliper has the largest 2 or 4 pistons? Largest I can find is 2000 GT Mustang at 1.77”. But I want a little more braking up front without breaking the bank, Mustang ll 11” rotor so not enough room for 6 piston.

I don't have the answer to your caliper question, but have you considered going to power brakes as an alternative?

I have the largest single booster that will fit, a 6.6” from a Subaru justy, 11” vac at idle and over 20” in vac canister after accelerating and decelerating so I am max out there. Thanks for the advice.

Good luck in sorting out your brakes and getting what you want.

I had some issues with the brakes in my West Coast Cobra, which obviously has a very different setup that you do, albeit it also has a Mustang II front suspension. I'm now running an 8" dual diaphragm booster, Wilwood remote tandem master cylinder, 4-piston Wilwood Dynalite Pro calipers up front and so-called 'large GM' calipers in the rear. Awesome stoppers!

This was a fairly significant investment but the brakes are night and day compared to the old brakes and well worth it, IMO. As a friend said, don't skimp on brakes or steering.
