Scary Noise, Please help.
Just got back from the final drive with the new buyer of my cobra, drive was very sedate nothing crazy. About 2 miles from my house after the new owner had left I get a strang noise comming from the tunnel, sounds like a loose bolt, some vibration through the stick shift.
Noise is a rattling sound, comes only when the car is at a stop or in neutral. Clutch in or out same sound but I think I get a little more noise with the clutch out. When moving there is no noise. I have no clue where to start looking at this point.
A quick glace when I pulled the tunnel cover shows that everything is locked down tight. It sounds like a higher picth ring, my first through is a throwout bearing but thats just a throught.
I have to get it fixed this weekend so any suggestion is warrented.
It has to be ahead of the tranny because you can hear even if the rear drivetrain is not moving.
Sound is getting worse at this point. Tranny has 2K miles on it from new and the clutch ~1500 or so.
