Dcapo, Cut the hole for the glovebox but leave a lip for the box to attach. The glovebox slides in from the front and attaches to the lip with screws or rivets. The door is in 3 pieces, the plastic cover gets the vinyl glued to it, that piece is then glued to the metal cover. The door assy. is then attached to the inside lower lip of the box. Make sure you leave enough room for the cover to clear the upper part of the opening. You may also have to do some trimming of the metal door to get the plastic cover to fit properly. I usually assemble the entire box before I install it in the dash.

There is no easy way to make one. Check all your boxes, the cover usually comes with the metal parts box (door hinges, latches, etc). The piano style hinge is welded to the cover and the shape is the same as the plastic cover. Give Pete @ Classic a call and tell him you need one if you can't find it. 1-800-373-9000.
