Default Unique Cobra Jag rear whine

I recently completed a unique 427, 427 top oiler, top loader tranny. The 331 Jag rear end begins to whine at about 50 mph and is howling at 65. I've been told by Unique that this is "typical" of a rebuilt Jag rear end. Am I wasting my time by hauling the pumpkin out and trying to fix it?
HELP!

Thumbs up

David,

Rear ends should not whine.

CAll Randy' Ring and Pinion.

I talked to one of the guys on the phone about doing the Jag for my Mid-States, he told me more in 5 seconds than eveyone else combined.

They will do my Jag.

Good luck,
Bill Cook

Wicked's right. They shouldn't whine.

Something's seriously out-of-whack.

Reider Racing (Michigan) does our differentials.

Hi Dave May car had the same sound in it. Put the rear of the car in the air and try to locate the noise. use a screwdriver and hold it to different parts of the rear. The noise will get louder the closer you get to the problem. I broke a stub shaft bearing in my rear end and howled at higher speeds. This might help. Rick Lake
