Default Noise in Front Right while turning

Hey guys,
I thought maybe someone would have some suggestions as to what might cause a wierd noise coming from the right front of my car when I turn to the right. I sounds like a tire rub, but I have checked the car both on and off a jack and there is plenty of clearance.

The car is an Everett-Morrison, with Mustang II rack and pinion maual steering and Mustang II Front Suspension. It has Disc Brakes with Granada Calipers.

I have noticed to car still sets too high in the front, I would guess the springs are too tall and also too stiff. I can sit and bounce (180lbs) on the front fenders and they don't budge. But I don't see this causing the noise.

The car has not been aligned yet, but seems to track straight and does not pull to either side, even when braking. Is it possible the caster/camber or tow in/tow out could cause a noise like this???
I can not FEEL the noise in the steering wheel or in the Brake pedal.
ANY IDEAS???
Thanks
RZ

Maybe a silly question, but when you jacked it up, did you do it under the spindles or under the center of the frame? Unless you already have, try jacking up BOTH sides equally from points under the spindles and try again. I'm sure you did, but,you might also look at your inner fenders for black marks.

Other than that, I can't think of anything off hand that sounds like a tire rubbing, except a tire rubbing. Bearings growl and rumble, brakes squeek and grind....

I'll try it from under the spindles. I just jacked it up from under the front cross member. I didn't see any rub marks on the inner liner of the fender though... Thanks for the input. Hopefully I can figure this out.

Lightbulb Rubbing Noise

Just a thought, check the inner surface of the brake rotor next to the lower ball joint and lower control arm. There sometimes is very little clearance in this area. Look for a ring on the suface indicating that the rotor is rubbing.

If the Mustang II suspension is using the strut type lower arm then you may be rubbing on the strut. If the tires in the front are pretty wide and the rack is not centered properly from lock to lock then you can have a problem on one side. This is usually noticed by looking at the tie rod ends. If one is screwed out further than the other by a good margin then you may be hitting the lock on one side and not the other, causing the tire rub. If this is the case then the strut will be nice and paint free on that side.
