Glasssnake, I gave the middle bracket a little consideration but decided not to to install for the very same reason, I run this boy hard and also noticed the flex in the center. I put a 2"x2" plastic piece about .050 thick under the windshield, where the bracket would normally be, during hard acceleration the windshield slides on the plastic and not on the paint.
