new holly fuel pump problem

I agree that I should be running a regulator, but the Holley pump I have was recommended by the factory for street use without a regulator.

I guess the thing was set at the factory. All I know is that on any given day, I can see a variance of about 7psi. (P.S. Checked the gauge, it's OK.)

Would anyone have a picture of the location of the mechanical fuel pump. Did all year 302 's come with aplace to mount the pump, did they discontnu the mechanical pump attachment on the bl0ck when they went to fuel injection. New to Ford and trying to determine if I should stick with the noisy Holley electric fuel pump or go with a mechanical pump. thanks
