Mike,
Nice job. With three crumb crunchers and a dog, it will be some time before the elephant rumbles to life. No worries though...
she is garaged and moth balled. Talked to Paul yesterday. He says hi.
DVSFIII...be there or be square..
Cheers,
Steven:)

Hello Mike,

Fantastic work there.... DV is using the Tremec TKO on the Coupe and the front or mid shift location with the B&M shifter is the choice to make due to the dimensions on the Coupe.

I used the Tremec TKO on my Unique with the standard rear location and the forward raked shifter from Enzo at finishline worked, it was a simple two bolt installation for the shifter.

My SPF also used the Tremec TKO with the rear shifter location and the forward raked shifter.....

Gearshift kit

The T56 gearshift relocation kit has been on sale for more than 12 months from a Sydney, Australia gearbox manufacturer. All parts are CNC machined & heat treated for longevity. There is no need to buy an after market shifter with this kit, everything is supplied. For information the contact e-mail address is ALLABOUT@bigpond.com

I purchased a T56 shifter relocator kit from Paul @ All About Gearboxes. A very neat job, and I am 100% satisfied. His workmanship and product finish is awesome.:D

Hello Mike,

The Coupe is being built in Ohio by DV, interestingly enough the top end of the motor is coming from Australia...the modern look from the outback. We are using the Wayne presly set upo with the electromotive TEC III egine management system eight down stacks, no distribuotr, EFI, all on top of 410 cu. in of Windsor small block. The TKO just arrived at DV's shop yesterday.

I wasn't watching my ticket last year I was here in California that Sunday morning playing softball. I will be at DVSF III with the coupe....looking forward to meeting you.

I wonder what they will raffle next year ????????:D :D :D :D

Aussie Mike:

Great job and thanks for putting that on the forum. BTW, could you give us the dimensions of the T-56? I am particularly interested in the width.

justa6 12-25-2002 02:22 PM

Mike,

I think you did a great job but I also think that TREMEC sells a kit for doing just what you did. I know they do for the TKO as I'm thinking of buying it and moving the stick forward.

Needless to say you don't need one but for others you might want to check it out.

New kit to move the shifter forward

I spoke to Shafi at Keisler Automotive Engineering and they said they are coming out with a kit this week that allows the shifter to be moved forward for $350.00. If you want a hurst shifter modified to fit on the forward location they charge $299.00 for that option. The way theirs works is they put the shift adapter in between the shifting shaft which allows you to use the rear shifter location again if you want to and it also uses the existing reverse lockout switch.

Mike

The $350 is just for the Kit. They said that they would do the whole thing if you shipped your transmission to them but the price for that goes up to $499, and you would have to pay for shipping.

Re: New kit to move the shifter forward

FYI,

I have the Keisler Automotive Engineering midshift kit for the T56 and it works great. I highly recommend it.
