302 short block
Hi everyone
I am gonna change engines (302 to 302) in my JCF slabside. I've been checking around trying to get the most bang for the buck and I've come up with the following:
In the 2002 Ford Racing catalog they offer a 345 HP long block for around $3300.00; they also have a 2 bolt main short block assembly. I'm trying to figure out which way to go. I have a new Eldebrock Performer RPM aluminum heads, MSD ignition, a Holley double pumper, all of which I can utilize on the short block assembly. Also the short block will give me the option of using any cam I want (Comp 280, etc.)
I want to get 330-350 Hp and be able to run 6500 rpm without problems. The tech people @ Ford tell me the short block I have mentioned is the same one they use in their 345 HP long block. Ford does not warranty either engine.
Opinions,
Thanks, Harris
