Default Oil leak ?

Well, after tearing down the top end of my 5.0 Crate and installing all new gaskets My problem has changed from
anti-freeze leak to an oil leak between cylinders 7 & 8. It only sprays small drops of oil out onto the headers when you rev the engine past 2,500. Smoke like a Freight Train.

I can't believe it is the new head gasket, but I am at a loss where the oil can be coming from?

Is there an oil plug or something located in that area of the block that could be leaking?

Has anyone ever encountered this problem or have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

George

Lightbulb Do you have a working PCV system ?

I installed billet breather/PCV caps, but did not hook up the PCV part.. guess what happened ? The slight crankcase pressure forced a small amount of oil constantly out of the dipstick top, and made a mess down the driver's side undercarriage.. I discovered the source quickly and pulled the breathers until I can get the PCV hooked up this week.. Have foam in the grommets now to keep dirt out .... look ma, no leaks!

By the way, if your Breather rubber grommet is loose in the valve cover, get O rings that are sized to pop into the groove and make up the slack.. on my 514 this was perfect, and now no seepage there either.. I even used one on my hard rubber oil filler cap. tight fit, and perfect now.
