Default Speed traps----USA-----

I was really surprised when I checked
known speedtraps in Georgia and found they were correct.......

The ones listed in my area of Virginia are accurate as well. Although there are many more not listed.

The city has landscaped the medians of some of the streets here and included a paved strip in the median for motorcycle cops to sit and radar the traffic from. They plant bushes on either side of the strip to partially conceal the cop. They just put one on the downhill of a popular street, you don't see the cop's head till it's too late.

A much shorter thread might be "who dosn't have a well known speed trap on a down hill grade on a 30 mph or less street.

My personal favorite: 4 lane blvd in an industrial area 45 mph then 30 mph then 45 mph then 30 mph all within 20 blocks ,lots of hidey holes too.

We had the Camera Vans here in the state for a short while, as well as automatic piture taking at selected Red Light running intersections. The state hired a "private contractor" who got a percentage of the tickets to run the program.

The first month or so thousands of tickets were issued. The "people" went nuts, almost riots in the streets over this. The legislature quickly dumped the program but still had to pay millions to the contractor. It's been pretty quiet since the Camera Vans left town. I see Hawaii is not listed on that site.

That's a great site! I'd never heard of it before!
