Default Leaning Cobra

The other night, after returning from a cruise, I noticed that the left front of my Unique 289FIA is sitting several inches lower than the right front. I never noticed this before. I thought that maybe I just needed to adjust that left-front Carrera shock a bit.

However, I've never heard of a shock just "going out of adjustment" like this, and am more concerned that it might be another suspension piece that I should be investigating. One person suggested that maybe the shock has lost some gas or is leaking, but I can't find any evidence of that. Any thoughts or advice??

Thanks,
Russ

Losing internal gas pressure in a damper won't change things much.

Compare the position of the spring collars of the left and right dampers. It's possible that one came loose.

By the way - if the left front is "several inches" lower than the right front, the left rear will suffer the same relationship with the right rear (unless your frame is twisted), so check the rear setup too.

Funny: I noticed my Unique 427 doing the same thing 2-3 weeks
ago, and it also developed a pull to one side. So, I adjusted the left side Carrera shock up to level out the car, drove it , upon returning I noticed the car was lower agian (on the same side). I called Carrera and spoke to thier expert. He thinks I have bad spring ( said "the shock does not hold the car up, the spring does). So - to cut to the chase - Carrera sent me a new spring and I installed it last night. I have not had a chance to test drive it, but I hope to this weekend.

WB,

Good point about the bad springs. We've been using Eibachs so long, I'd forgotten the reason we changed from Carreras.
