license plate restoration

Looking for advice and info. I have a pair of mid 60's California license plates - black background with yellow lettering, that are in good condition but could use sprucing up.
Does anyone know the right color info for painting ? manufacturer and color numbers for the black and for the yellow?
Or does anyone know of or has used a license plate restorer?
Any help would be appreciated.

Randy Resiter (sp) on this group. Sorry about the spelling but you will have to look him up. He knows the name of some one that restores plates.
