Default different waterpumps???

here's the problem, I'm done rebuilding the 390 for my pick up, it's not the original engine as far as the vin number says. I don't have any idea what the block came out of. the last parts came on, and as i bolted the pulleys on the waterpump, they overlapped the pulley on the balancer. they came off the engine with no problem. i bought this water pump for a 76 ford pick up. i checked in the water pump catalog and they showed 3 others for all FE. one i ordered came in last night but looks identical except for some casting differences but the part number is different. the way it mounts is identical and the hub where the pulley mounts looks identical. i got one coming today and then one more will be here tomorrow. Has anyone ever heard of this?? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Read my article in the last KitCar Mag. Milodon sent me a 351C pump instead of a 351W, although it was in the correct box with the correct docs. It actually bolted up and ran but the engine ran hot to the point of overheating.

that is a possibility, if none of these work with the pulleys, i might have an excuse to go electric.
