Webers converted to Fuel Injection
PICTURES ARE POSTED!! SEE BELOW! Thanx Ben!
.
Dick Miller from Kansas brought his car to us in Denver to modify his Weber carb set-up. He didn't want to use the complete Momar EFI system. Even though they are billeted to simulate Webers, Dick wanted his Webers modified.
We retained the Webers as only an air control by way of existing Butterfly Valves. One carb was equiped with a Throttle Positioning Sensor.
The manifold was modified to accept fuel injectors directly into the manifold under each carb body.
A fuel block was postioned at the back of the engine to run fuel lines cleanly between the Carbs, hugging the manifold.
The manifold was further modified to accept a vaccuum sensor and vaccuum lines hidden under the manifold.
An Ambient Temperature sensor was installed, as well as Coolant Temp Sensor and an O2 sensor in one side pipe. A Haltech F10 system has been wired in to handle fuel maintanence.
Since this is an R&D effort it has taken much longer than we anticipated. A first time modification that will enable any Weber Carb car owner to stand OUTSIDE the car, lean in and start it!
No pedal pumping, no long warm ups! And no synching Carbs!
We have had Dick's car for 2 months. He has been very understanding and very patient. When machining and wire harnesses are produced and fabricated under someone else's time table, it takes a looooonnnngggg time! We are close to firing up the results and will be able to do this to other Weber owners.
Regards,
Don "the office dude" and Cobra Rookie
