Default How many miles?

I'm wondering how many miles I can expect a typical Superformance Cobra to run? What is considered a high mileage car?
Thanks!
Ken

I'm assuming it's just like any other car. It depends on how you drive it and how much power (strain) the engine has.

I think Hal Copple is pushing 70,000 on his. I also seem to recall a thread where everyone talked about how many miles are on their cars.

I second what mattr762 says. The wilder the motor, the shorter the life span. The harder it is driven, the shorter the life span. When mine is done, I am going to just tear it apart and restore it. With that mind set, there is no such thing as 'high miles'.

Generally parts on these cars just don't last the 150K you expect out of a new car from a major manufacturer. Mainly because we beat on them. But then again, they are almost infiniately rebuildable.

Not an answer really, just some thoughts on the subject.

223,000 and counting on my company car (Toyota Corolla),will run it to 300,000......Need to keep it,as I just had to spend 50 bucks on a new drive belt, thinking of calling Toyota and complaining it only lasted 223k....

It's not a Cobra, but I have around 21,000 miles on my Mustang since restoring it and putting it on the road in August of 96...About 3 thousand a year.........

hal here. Actually, i think my mileage is somewhere between 65-70K, i say think so, because my odo was not working for some months a year ago, and besides, i only recently had the correct speedo gear put in, it was reading about 15% slow.

But my stroked Windsor, has no leaks, doesn't smoke, uses negligible oil, has the same 8 cylinder compression it did when it was new, no knocks, no rattles, and Lord knows how many times it has run to red line, and been held there.

But i don't push it until it is good and warm, run good oil, watch my pressures and temps, and frequently change out my fluids.

But the eventual rebuild won't be too expensive, not like one of my friends old 911 motor rebuild. Jeeze, 8 grand for re-build.

Wait till his turbo Porsche needs a rebuild!!
