I am looking to start a Cobra. I am retiring this spring. I have many years of motorhead stuff behind me.
I would appreciate any advice anyone would care to give me before I plop the money down. I have looked for several years and have some brands in mind. The Lone Star, Factory Five, Shell Valley and B&B interest me for various reasons. The singular one thing they share in common is they are all driving distance form me. I am 6'4" and 225 lbs. so the Lone Star and B&B is cool.

Shell valley also offers a 4 inch dropped floor. It is a good kit in my opinion but not perfect but I have yet to find perfection in any one kit. Shell Valley and Midstates are close to each other and owned by the same person although the cars are different, both are nice. The people at thses companies are wonderful as well.

ebigs1,

Doc hit on one of the most important necessities in the search for a cobra replica kit, make sure they will respond to your questions after the sale. There will be many times when you'll need to speak with someone! Shell Valley and Midstates are both in Nebraska, both great people. You need to do your homework... talk to us here at club cobra, talk to the manufacturers, ask for references. If you can, visit their shop. Midstates has always been there for me. When I've had a concern or a problem they've gone the extra mile to see that I'm satified. If you don't have it, buy "The Complete Guide to Cobra Replicas". Lots of good info. There are many quality kits out there, be selective. Good luck!

Well, here's a bit of good news. PREMIER Motorsports is 20 miles away from you. Pop on 35N to I70E. I70 East to exit 422C "Service Road" in Kansas City, KS. Turn back west at the bottom of the ramp. We're the 50,000 sq foot building directly ahead of you.

Take a look at our website www.premiercobras.com.

Then come spend a day. You will see sights that can't be seen anywhere else in the Cobra world. You will certainly get an education about the differences in Cobra turmkeys, turnkey rollers, and DIY Cobras from various manufacturers. We currently have in house for retstoration or repair original vintage Cobras, CSX Shelby's, Kirkhams, Shell Valley, Excaliber, and FFR. Of course there are more than a dozen of our own as well. We've had people come half way across the country to see what is available to you within a 30 minute drive.

I'm Bob Lockett, Chief Operting Officer, feel free to call me at 913-321-2225. And you're welcome to call me 24/7. We're VERY serious about what we do - which is to manufacture and deliver to you the very finest Cobra ever built.....hands down, no questions, no discussion, no apologies. Big talk to be sure, but please come see how we back up what we say. We think you'll agree...

All the best....

It would be nice to have your MFG within driving distance of you but I personally wouldn't use that as my deciding point. There are many companies out there with great personal relations & reputations. I had mine shipped from CT to CA & have had nothing but good relations with ERA.

Check out FFCOBRA.com there is great support from builders as well as Factory Five. Dave Smith regularly contributes to the forum.
