Default CVR Starter and 5/16 bolts

I'm just getting around to installing my CVR starter and the 5/16 bolts that go into the bell housing are pretty small in the starter holes. Looks like it was bored for 3/8. Anyone notice this?

Also did you rotate the starter to clear the headers...if so can you tell me the position.

Which Bellhousing are you using? I have a Lakewood and it is setup for 5/16 bolts

I picked up some 3/8-5/16 shoulder bolts that should work. I still wonder why the bellhousing is setup for 5/16

Sorry I wasn't fast enough.

I have a Ford cast bellhousing that is off a Boss 351. The holes are 3/8" and there are two of them, NOT three. Ford made a three hole starter for a few cars, I am not sure, but I think they had 5/16" bolts.

Someone want to chime in here?

Why aren't you using 3/8" bolts if the holes are 3/8"?

The CVR literature says it replaces both 2 and 3 bolt Ford FE Starters. My Bellhousing is setup for 3 - 5/16 bolts. Strange part is the starter is only setup for 2 - 3/8 bolts.
