Default 460ci Balancer & Pulley . . . How?

Guys, go easy on me with an answer here......

Anyone know the correct way to put on the harmonic balancer and crank pulley onto a ford big block 460?

Is the balancer just "tapped" into place or does it have to be pressed on?

Anyone know where to find the bolts that connect the pulley to the balancer, I believe there are 4 of them? Even went to the ford dealer today and they say they do not sell them anymore.

Anyone . . . please help!

The correct way is to use a balancer installation tool. You might be able to rent one for a parts store. In a pinch, you can lightly tap the balancer on, after making sure the key-way is lined up, untill you can engage 1/2" of thread on the balancer bolt. Then SLOWLY tighten the bolt to draw the balancer into place. Torque the balancer to 150 ft. lbs.
The 4 pulley bolts are 3/8"X18 (corse) X 3/4" long for a steel pulley and 1" long for an aluminum pulley.
