Default '87 maufacturer research

I bought a replica several years ago from a car museum which was built in 1987 and I cannot run down any history or who the manufacturer was. It was allegedly built for the owner or director of the then Charlotte Motor Speedway but noone I spoke with there has any recollection of it. The VIN # is BD21584, it has 1973 corvette running gear and it was last wholesaled through M&M transfer. Anyone have any advice?

Thanks,

George

I've never heard of any Cobra replica based on the early Vette. Maybe it was a one-off. Pictures would help.

Default Vette-Cobra platform...

Is the wheelbase greater than 90", maybe 94"+, and utilizing much of the actual Vette parts?. Such as the full chassis, all complete Vette front/rear suspension, actual Vette door latches and pedal assembly, Vette handbrake, Vetter steering column and Vette/GM wiring harness, as-is? If so, my friend had one and sold it a few years back. Had a 454 Chevy in it. I know a little about the car and where it came from if this is similar to yours. Send me a PM. DC

This may have been an early "Cobrette".

All the pics of Cobrette's have the "twisty-header" side-pipe like yours.
