First they are not rookie stripes. They are team stripes. Rookie stripes go on the rear of the car so an upcoming driver can identify the rookie.

The team stripes I've seen in old books can be 2" or 4" Some just go across the fender at an angle, some straight across. Others I've seen go clear across from fender to fender.

Pick up a book on original Cobras and you'll see what I mean.

It is the width of the mag strip on the back of your credit card. LOL

Thanks to Roscoe I bought the RACE TAPE and used that to add the Team Stripes. Of course it's "temporary", which means I get to change the color, placement and length anytime I want!

You MIGHT want to go with tape first and try different ideas before you settle on "paint", which is a permenent solution.

Check my galley for yellow tape on red body team stripes! Red tape on a blue body?

Default Team stripes

These are the red on blue team stripes on my car. There is a shot of the hood and fender from above in my gallery as well.

Cracker I see your stripes stop mid fender. I took mine all the way to the edge of the rubber moulding UNDER my hood.

I've noticed others that stop the stripes mid fender on top. To me it looks "unfinished". I'm thinking that the way they did them back in the day? No doubt because they ran short on time and paint?

Notice the shorty extensions on my sidepipes? THATS how I won 1st place in the "Rumble Contest" at the all Ford show where the above picture was taken. An open pipe 427 is LOUD!!!!
