Default Stripped threads on Holley carb

I have a 670 Holley street avenger which I stripped a thread on. It is the bolt that holds one of the fuel bowls on. Happened when I was changing jets. Got a bit "torque happy" I guess.

Anyway. That is the oddest size and thread patern anybody around here has ever seen.

Does anyone know where I might obtain a helicoil set for this?

Thanks.

You might try a good hardware store or machine shop supply company, or a good machine shop in your area. The size is 12-24 thread, not the most common size in everyday use. Maybe even a motorcycle shop. Buying the kit to do 1 would probably be more than paying to have it done.

Dave,

I remember the day you did that. What a day!! I do not know if I told you or not, but Fairplay has always been my breakdown spot. You took that away from me and I am very thankful. It is so nice to drive out of there under our own power and not on the back of a tow truck.

It was so nice of you to come all the way to Colorado for our Cruise. Hope to see you soon and say hi to Jan for all of us Mile Hi Cobra Club people.

Dick

Dick,

Great to hear from you! I have to admit riding over Monarch Pass in Dans rig loaded to the limit with cobras was almost exciting as driving it in the cobra, and then there was Gunnison where I swapped in a new carb, and did my best imitation of a pro stock run down main street to "make sure things are OK" . Certainly entertained the local sheriff.

Y'all take care and I'll be seeing you next year for the cruise.
