Holley accelerater pump & cams
I have an inline dual four setup. I'm running the 1860 series carbs. I have two accelerater cam assortment kits.Ihave installed 50 cc pumps but am considering going back to the 30 cc pumps. My carbs came with lite blue plastic cams that gave a big shot at first then were done.I'm using a book Super Tuning And Modifing Holley Carbrueaters.I've seen a revised version on the book stands but the information I want is'nt the part revised.
On the plastic cam kit there are more cam than discussed in the book.
I do not know The total travel available in the 30 cc and 50 cc pumps.
The 50 cc kits came with a brown cam # 664 Quick Fuel Techknowledgy said that there werw only two cams intended for the 4150 series carbueter and 50 cc pump,#664 and # 336 both brown.#336 cam was in the cam kit. same profilr as the #664 .The #664 has a wider surface where the lever rubbed the cam.#664 cam and the 50 cc pump had a constant ramp that used the whole sweep of the throttle.I'm second guessing the 50 cc pump move.
If I go back to the 30 cc pumps a cam change is due. The carbs came with lite blue plastic accelerater cams. They lifted rapidly to the near limit of the 30 cc pum before the first third of throttle travel. No more accelerater pump for the remaining throttle travel. I'm open to disscusion.I know ther are different stratagies. My throttle linkage has a another hole on the right side drilled by me and a link with a slot to the rear carb. The front carb moves first through about 1/3 travel, then it starst to opening the rear carb .The carbs both arrive at full throttle at the same time.
What did or would you do?
What mix of parts?
